Wow, where to begin?
Are you doing something you love doing? We are! Steve is the #1 dude here - the photographer. He has been involved in photography and wanted to become a professional photographer ever since high school. You should see the stuff he did as a kid. Graphic arts was his main focus in high school and his interest in the arts has never gone away. When he gets that camera out, magic happens. Cindy, on the other hand, has spent the past 30 years in education (which she also loved), but has now retired so she can focus on her more creative side. She is a total people person. We believe it is very important to get to know our clients so we can tell your story, so you'll be spending some time with Cindy. She is also honing her skills as a photographer.
We have been married a long time - how long you say? Long enough to have two incredible sons. Randy is in education (yea), and Chance is in the Air Force. We couldn't possibly be more proud of our kids. And now, Randy and Jenny have given us two amazing grandkids (you can imagine how many pictures we have of them).
Both of our sons are building their own lives now, so we decided to jump in with both feet and do our own thing. Even though we've been shooting weddings, special events, and everyday stuff for many years, we didn't start working on our 'official' Photos By Gum business until a couple of years ago. We bought a home on 50 acres with a perfect space for the indoor studio and lots of room for us to create our outdoor portrait park. We specialize in senior photos, family portraits, maternity and newborn, and children; however, we still shoot the occasional wedding and other special events.
We believe it is very important to constantly improve our skills, so taking classes, attending professional photography conferences, and spending time with other photographers is a priority for us. We belong to the national Professional Photographers Association (PPA) and MoPPA which has given us tremendous help and support.
The most important thing you need to know about us is that when we take a picture of you, we want it to tell your story, something that you will be proud to hang on the wall or share on a coffee table with all your friends and family. Photography is a passion for both of us, and we guarantee you will be pleased with the results.
