A Guide to Make Your Wedding Day Photography Go Smoothly:
Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot:
Having a pre-wedding photo shoot can improve your wedding pictures more than anything else you might do. Whether an engagement, bridal, or boudoir session, take time to know your photographer.
The Pose:
You know the old saying "Chin Up". By lifting your chin you get rid of the double chin. Turning slightly will make your body seam slimmer than a straight on shot. Holding your elbows away from your body reduces the apparent width of your torso and accentuates your bosom. Shifting your weight to your rear foot turns your hips into a position that gives you a sexy curviness.
Decorate the Brides Dressing Room:
Pick a room with lots of natural light and use gauzy fabrics over the windows instead of thick curtains that obstruct illumaination. If the dressing room is in a church basement with very little light, try using Christmas lights strung around the room. It looks pretty and the extra light is nice for the photographer. Don't keep it too neat. Natural is the way to achive the documentary style look. Wedding messes are ok but not empty boxes and bags.
Photographing in the Dressing Room:
If you are self conscious or modest, you may ask your photographer to leave the room whenever you ask. However some of the best images happen in the dressing room, especially when the dress is going over the bride's head while all the bridesmaids are helping to get it on.
Props:
When ordering flowers for the wedding, be sure to order an extra single rose, boutonniere, ribbon or other inexpensive items that the photographer can use in your photos. Photos of wedding rings with flowers, invitation, maybe even your shoes and garter can really add to your album.
The Bouquet:
You should always hold your bouquet down. Never hide your thousand dollar dress with a hundred dollar bouquet. When throwing your bouquet, don't rush through this part... take a minute to play with your crowd. This gives your photographer time to get a shot of you holding the flowers and looking back over your shoulder at all the gang getting lined up
